Specify the construction as well as size
A 1200 × 1000 mm footprint can be built in different ways. Tell us about the goods, loaded weight, support points and handling equipment. Include a drawing or a sample specification if an existing pallet already works well. Dimensions alone do not establish deck strength, entry clearance or suitability for racking.
Plan the load footprint
Compare the base of the packed goods with the usable deck. Discuss any overhang and the position of concentrated loads with the responsible packaging specialist. If cartons or bags need close support, say so before a pallet is selected. If your customer requires a specific pattern, make it part of the order description.
Export requirement
Include the destination country and whether the pallet is one part of a larger wooden packaging assembly. Ask for the required treatment and marking to be confirmed with the quotation. New or used condition, exact construction, availability, pricing and delivery are confirmed for each enquiry.
Build a repeatable purchasing record
Keep the product identity, drawing revision and accepted construction together with the treatment requirement. If a substitution is proposed, compare it against the cargo and handling process before accepting it. An identical footprint is not enough to establish equivalence.
For repeat orders, tell the team about forecast volumes and the frequency of use. Agree how changes to the load, destination or receiving equipment will be communicated. This helps purchasing, packing and goods-in use the same information.
Compare the complete delivered offer
Ask which product and condition the quotation covers, what treatment and marking are included and how delivery is arranged. Include unloading equipment and any booking restrictions. An ex-yard price and a delivered price should be reconciled before comparison. Lead times, charges and availability are confirmed against the actual enquiry.
