Choosing this construction
Two-way entry allows fork approach from two opposite sides. It is a construction choice, not a treatment category. A runner-based pallet or skid can be useful where the handling route consistently allows that approach, but access needs to be checked at the destination as well as the dispatch site.
Two-way access and loading orientation
Draw the approach direction on the specification. A pallet which can be loaded readily through a factory doorway may face a different orientation in a trailer or warehouse bay. State the available fork length, spacing and clearance, and discuss any pallet-truck requirement separately.
A practical specification example
A machinery base moved from an assembly line to a loading bay may retain one orientation throughout. If the consignee needs to lift it from the side, that constraint must be resolved before the base is built. The answer may be a different design or a different handling plan, rather than rotating a heavy loaded unit on arrival.
Treatment and marking for the finished packaging
Tell us where the goods are being packed and their final destination. Include collars, blocking and other raw timber used with the base. Ask for the treatment and marking requirement to be confirmed for the offered construction. Neither entry type, footprint nor new condition is proof of ISPM 15 compliance. Changes after the packaging is supplied should be referred back to the responsible provider.
