What this size tells you
This intermediate width should be selected for an actual packaging or handling requirement. Describe why the width matters, including any production-line opening or customer constraint. Obtain an agreed drawing rather than assuming a common construction exists for the size.
A footprint is not a load rating
The external length and width do not specify board thickness, support members, connections, material condition or permissible loading. Give the supplier the gross weight and load contact areas, together with floor, fork, conveyor and racking conditions. Ask for confirmation of suitability for the product offered; do not transfer a rating from a different pallet with the same outline.
A worked planning example
A narrow door may constrain the loaded width, but the proposed pallet must also fit the load and available equipment. Measure protection and restraints as part of the envelope; nominal product width alone is insufficient.
Orientation and receiving equipment
Label length and width on the drawing and show the fork-entry sides. Two rotated descriptions can refer to the same rectangle but different construction or handling assumptions. Send any customer or warehouse specification, including exact product identity where required. Check the total loaded height and dimensions with the freight operator.
Treatment, quantity and delivery
Include the final export destination, treatment and marking requirements, new or used preference and quantity. State where the empty pallets are needed and when packing begins. Mention collars, timber blocks and other packaging components. The team confirms the offered design, availability, price and delivery against the complete brief.
